Install adblock-like plugin for Google Chrome - very easy install. This javascrpts plugin lets you get rid of on page ads and pop-ups.

The best thing is how easy it is to install this plugin. Just drag a link in your bookmarks folder: (CTRL+B) to open your bookmarks toolbar. Go to google-chrome.com for the link http://google-chrome.com/first-plugin-s ... e-browser/

Code: Select all
javascript:(function(){function R(w){try{var d=w.document,j,i,t,T,N,b,r=1,C;for(j=0;t=["object","embed","applet","iframe"][j];++j){T=d.getElementsByTagName(t);for(i=T.length-1;(i+1)&&(N=T[i]);--i)if(j!=3||!R((C=N.contentWindow)?C:N.contentDocument.defaultView)){b=d.createElement("div");b.style.width=N.width; b.style.height=N.height;b.innerHTML="<del>"+(j==3?"third-party "+t:t)+"</del>";N.parentNode.replaceChild(b,N);}}}catch(E){r=0}return r}R(self);var i,x;for(i=0;x=frames[i];++i)R(x)})()

Pretty easy right! There are more plugins available like stumble it for bookmarking on Stumbleupon. There is also a video download plugin. All simple javascript that you drag and install. I am sure things will be more elegant soon but this is so easy. :)

Instead of making a whole bunch of new extensions for Google Chrome, why not make Google Chrome compatible with Firefox extensions?
I've had Google Chrome for 5 minutes now but will continue to use Firefox unless something like this is implemented. I like Google Chrome
though, it's wicked fast! But it's not worth it for me if I don't have the versatility of Firefox.

Here is a list of the top Firefox plugins or add-ons that we need in Chrome. Now that we have Greasmonkey (greasemetal for Chrome) support, we just need these!

Mouse Gestures
Allows you to execute common commands (like page forward/backward, close tab, new tab) by mouse gestures drawn over the current webpage. This would be nice considering how fast Chrome is.

Flashblock
Blocks Flash so it won't get in your way, but if you want to see it, just click on a placeholder to load it. This keeps Chrome as fast as possible.

Firebug
Web development tools while you browse. You can edit, debug, and monitor CSS, HTML, and JavaScript live in any web page. This plugin makes Firefox.

PDF Download
View PDFs directly in Firefox as HTML, and save and share Web pages as high-quality PDF files. Anything to keep away from Acrobat.

Bookmarks manager
The Chrome bookmarks just need to get more serious. There are plenty of Firefox plugins that work beautifully.

Bookmarks sync
Gmarks anyone?

NoScript
Allow active content to run only from sites you trust, and protect yourself against XSS attacks.

Dictionary Plugin

StumbleUpon
StumbleUpon, submit sites

Delicious
Delicious bookmarks

Adblock
Is Google really going to let this happen? Its open source so I guess yes!

Seo Quake
Powerful site rank and index analysis.

Roboform
Memorizes your passwords and Logs You In automatically. Password Manager and Web Form Filler. A must.

Download them all
Lets you download all the links or images contained in a webpage.

Alright so I am sure I missed a few that you use. Lets hear your wish list.
See the Greasemeetal post here http://www.googlechromeplugins.com/plugins-talk/greasmonkey-for-chrome-greasemetal-t97.html

Hello! I'm fairly new to Chrome, but I like it so far! I am very much a Google girl, so I was happy to see them make a browser. I would like to see Yoono extension for Chrome to manage my IMs and social sites, and I'd like to see a Cooliris extension. Thanks for your consideration!

Just popped in to introduce myself! You can call me Wynter. I've just recently started using Chrome. Something's all glitchy with Firefox and I haven't gotten that straightened out, so rather than be constantly annoyed, I switched to Chrome. I'm a Google girl! I recommend all things Google to my friends and they usually try it and see how good it is! Well, I'm off to post about an extension. Nice typing with y'all! :D

Hello All!!! I am a new user for the Chrome browser, and I love it! I used to be a Firefox fan (I still do) but so far, I think I will change to Chrome as my default internet browser, it has all I need. Quick, simple, nice GUI, open source... Nice!!! I just hope we can get a download manager similar to DoThemAll on FIrefox. Greetings to all from Mexico.

Hey people, a new Canadian in the 'club' ! :D

I recently moved onto Google Chrome even though I thought no browser would ever beat Opera, I guess I was wrong. I feel proud to be part of a community that has enormous potential to become the biggest community for Google Chrome.

I am also surprised to see that Google Chrome is compatible with a lot of sites, compared to Opera which wasn't so 'compatible' with everything when it first started.

So I guess this is it, oh and one last thing,

Firefox sucks!

Salutations!
