OSX - NPAPI support

Postby wwwhack on 02 February 2010

Hello all...

I have a NPAPI plugin working for FF & Safari on OSX (10.6). Chrome (4.0.249.49 beta) doesn't see it - it doesn't appear in 'about:plugins'. I've googled around a bit but I haven't found an authoritative answer:

1. Does/will Chrome for OSX support NPAPI plugins? (I understand there is support on Windows)
2. Does/will it require a 'wrapper extension' or some other hoops that I'll need to jump through?
3. Is there any OSX specific documentation out there anywhere?

Thanks in advance for any help!

I'll bet most people post here hoping someone will answer their question for them... not me though. I posted here because I know that as soon as I break down and ask someone I will quickly find the answer. Just always seems to work that way :-)

Soooo.. plugins aren't supported in the beta version yet. I grabbed the latest build from the dev channel (5.0.307.1 dev) and my plugin is working like a charm.

You can get one too - from here: http://dev.chromium.org/getting-involved/dev-channel

Thanks for looking at my question anyway though :-)
